The cute and the snuggly

Well this week has been amusing and frustrating filled with many joys and sorrows.

Currently we are in week 32 of the pregnancy and day 11 of this awful head cold.  I have woken up in tears not being able to breathe and have shed 3 pounds of mucus. Grrr. On the positive side... all of the coughing has caused little guy to flip.... AGAIN.... but now he is head down.  Let's just pray he stays that way. With all the extra rest I have been needing due to trying to kick this head cold.... I have welcomed the extra snuggles from the furbaby
.

Blaming it on the pregnancy hormones... I have predominately had to stick with watching baking shows because everything else causes a heavy heart and vivid dreams that have led to waking up in tears.  There have been a lot of tragedy filled situations this past few days that have filled my news feed and text messages that have caused more tears and fear to creep in
As Justin reminds me... we can't borrow trouble... so instead I pray trusting that God has it under control.

As our weekend comes to a close and another week starts... there were no big adventures but we did discover a new fish restaurant close to home thanks to pregnancy cravings! Justin was super busy around the house working in the yard, hanging new light fixtures and putting up some art work while I tried to get a few household chores done... making meals, laundry, dishes, etc. I am finding it funny that with each passing week my arms are getting shorter and things far away are getting harder to reach! This week I was told by my midwife that I was looking very pregnant... yet others don't believe I only have less than 8 more weeks to go. Some of the comments have been amusing.

The newest elephant in the room! He was a surprise delivered on Saturday morning and we love how cuddly he is!

Single digits ... and I feel bleh!

Well I have to say... we are officially down to the single digits and at this point most of week 31 has been spent on the couch due to a head cold that is combined with pregnancy congestion that I have had for months and as the Dr put it... seasonal allergies (not sure what I could be allergic to!). All combined make for a lot more sleepless nights and not being able to breathe... or do much else for that matter.
This is how me and the boys (little guy and the furbaby) have been rolling this week!

Before this week is over wanted to share what little guy has been up to... he is about the size of romaine lettuce...17.5 inches long and about 3.5-4 lbs. He has turned again... so we got some cute profile shots at our last NST appt.

The weekly adventure date was to the LA County Fair to see Cheaptricks and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.  And we are at the end of our September concert series!

30 weeks and 4am

It is 4am... do you know where your babies are?

This is becoming a regular theme and I am really not sure whom is sleep training who! The fur baby and the little guy both are early birds it seems and just want to play at this time of morning!  So it is as good a time as any to work on a couple things while I am awake.

Little guy update... we have made it to 30 weeks.... he is the size of a summer cantaloupe... not sure if there is any other type.

He is about 17 inches long but curled up and about 3 and a half pounds. Seems to be growing well and doing a whole lot of moving.  Per our last ultrasound on Thursday... he is curled up above my stomach under my sternum facing backwards.... again another great view of his spinal column. This is also causing the issue of him taking my breath away and causing a lot of indigestion and heartburn.  (Another couple of reasons the sleep training for mommy is working well.)   Really praying that he starts making his way head down so that we have a chance to have a natural birth.

The fur baby...currently also curled up on my upper tummy at the moment.... purring away.  Not much else to report on him at the moment!

With all of these changes... I have been trying to catch up on reading... both for me and for little guy's development. Currently this is the stack of books on my night stand....

This week in the lives of Justin and Angela.... Justin is a saint for putting up with the emotions...and exhaustion of his pregnant wife. It was Angela's first week back to school for the regular school year... and with a great team  it started off with a very smoothish start.  We capped off our week with a trip to Riverside's Fox theatre to see the Queen Extravaganza. Building little guy's repertoire of music and he danced the entire 2 and a half hours!

We are fully aware that some of these adventures will be put on a temporary hiatus when little guy gets here...however we want to make sure he gets the experiences of culture as well as being introduced to the world around him from a young age.

Now that both the fur baby and the little guy are cruising again... and it has finally cooled off a bit (It had been in the triple digits again around here!)... I am going to try to get a nap in before J gets up to start his day.

Be a pineapple

Well we are just past 29 weeks... in the 7th month... and 3rd trimester. 11ish weeks to go.

This week little guy is the size of a pineapple... 16 inches long and about 3lbs and I have gained about 15 lbs total this far.
He is doing a lot of moving and shifting. After being head down, facing my spine for the last two months ultrasounds... this past Tuesday when I went in we got a good face shot and he was head up in a breech position. By Thursday after my first NST he was back facing my spinal column with his head semi down. Not sure if I am growing a kick boxer or a gymnast  but the only thing that settles him down is having Gandalf sleep on my belly... I guess the purring is soothing to the little guy!

This weekend... Justin and I went on a Saturday adventure before the 2 becomes 3 ... we went to Farrell's for ice cream...
And then went to the Hollywood Bowl for an evening with John Williams AND surprise guest Steven Spielberg! What a fun evening.

Going to try to do a few more adventures before little guy makes his appearance!
